I've known Kelly Davidson for what seems like forever. She's a lot younger than I am, so this seems impossible, but in Kelly I see myself, as I was so many years ago. We are both crazy for dogs. And she worked for The Boston Phoenix for years, and so did I. But more important, she has the passion to keep a very difficult and competitive career (photography) going. No easy task. Talent is a requisite, but perseverance is just as important. In Kelly's photographs, we see all the personal qualities that make her so adored. She shoots what she loves—music, kids, family, whatever. And she does it with crazy energy.People don't just sit for Kelly. They vibrate! And so do we as we leaf through the pages of her book. I just cannot fully articulate my amazement at your ability to literally and figuratively, "etch" a persons essence onto the photo.
